Ever hear of a car insurance company spending millions on a political campaign to ensure they make LESS in profits? Sounds like an April Fool's Day joke, but Mercury Insurance wants to trick you into thinking it's for real.

Proposition 17 is a deceptively written ballot measure that Mercury wants you to believe would protect consumers but would actually allow car insurance companies to stick soldiers, seniors, students and other Californians with $1,000 surcharges.

They said I was 100% covered for repairs. So I got the repairs. When I next called up Mercury, my adjuster was gone and they said she never saw the top of my car so they couldn't cover it. When I said, how can you look at a car and not see the top, they laughed at me. Literally. These guys are complete scum.

what's wrong with giving a discount to people who obey the law? people get insurance for 1 month so they can register their car with the dmv and then go uninsured for the next 11 months. These people should pay more.
