Demo version: http://soundcloud.com/greatbasinkingdom/the-last-of-gunplay
A song of a petty bandit, a Hole in the Wall Gang reject, redeemed for one last encounter, to settle a score. I posted another version of this with some overdubs (and the full story of the song in the description), but wanted to have a go of it solo to see if I could get it work with my rig. I'd probably choose less distortion on the guitar but I was in the mood for it this time.
I'm playing my Xaviere XV JT-90 with the pickup in the bridge position, through a Vox AC4 amp, set to 1/4 watt with the volume and tone dials all the way up. The amp is mic'd with an MXL 603s "pencil" mic, my vocals with a Studio Projects B1. A Tascam DP 008 is capturing each mic on a separate track. I exported these tracks to Garage Band, where I synced them to the video from my Kodak Zi8 and added a bit of compression and reverb.
