Sez Les - Les Dawson & John Cleese - Rival Newsreaders

The Rival Newsreaders sketch from the YTV series Sez Les.

Sez Les ran for 11 series between 1969 and 1976. During a couple of the 1971 shows and throughout the two series in 1974 John Cleese appeared regularly alongside Les Dawson.

A number of the sketches that John Cleese appeared in have a certain Pythonesque feel to them although as far as I'm aware he didn't contribute to the writing on the show.

Actually, this looks quite similar in concept with the “Rival documentaries” segment in Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
