Zimbabwe is seeing some change since the new power-sharing government of President Robert Mugabe and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangira.

After a decade of economic decline, the countrys hospitals failed to cope with a cholera epidemic that killed four thousand.

But now thanks to the Ministry of Finance, doctors and nurses are getting paid again and hospitals are being reopened.

[Jealous Nderere, Chief Executive, Harare Hospital]:
"At some stage the hospital was basically closed, because of lack of basic supplies like drugs and surgical supplies that are needed for treatment of patients. The infrastructure had also broken down, the plumbing system had basically collapsed because of the age of the hospital."

[Chisango,Ward Matron, Harare Hospital]:
"We are very happy coming back to work because we really felt we needed to help our people but there were no resources so it was not fair coming to just watch someone dying when we don't have anything to use."

UNICEF has also been helping by paying allowances to some doctors and nurses.

But despite improvements, Zimbabwe's full recovery could take a while as an estimated three million Zimbabweans -- a quarter of the population -- have fled in search of work.

  • That is after they after Europe and America put sanction on this country.

But still what is the difference, you guys are printing money too, your own economy is in shumbles, auto-makers and real-estate business are going out of business, and market is down everyday. and u are printing money and bailing out--and that is without being sanctioned.

  • Iraq, Afganistan where thousands die every day!

At least there is peace and order in Zimbawbe.

The thing is, why are we hearing only the negative things with countries that disagree with the West, countries such as North Korea, Iran and Zimbabwe, all the reports are negative, but if you go there is totally different.

  • What countries are worse than Zimbabwe?

They recently printed a new currency, 1 Trillion Dollars. (1,000,000,000,000) That is how bad they are.

  • The West is trying to demonize Zimbabwe, because it doesn't agree with them, so they make it look bad, even though they are hundred of countries worst then Zimbabwe.
