+++ Charter train from Finland to Russia around lake Ladoga in July 1993. Route: Joensuu -Värtsilä - Sortavala - Priozersk (Käkisalmi) - St Petersburg - Lodeinoe Pole - Svir - Olonec - Pitkäranta - Jänisjärvi - Värtsilä - Joensuu. Shaky video by a passanger is slightly edited (part 4/5).

Rather a small number of charter trains were taken from Finland to Russia after the collapse of the Soviet empire, mostly much closer to the border. The villages and sceneries in the train window had been blocked by the iron curtain for decades. Still, some passangers were born in the towns and villages of a part of the route, and most had some roots there. Here, some sunshine in the beautiful landscape of Olonec.
