@Bengal4life1 I don't have any answer for any of that. Since I don't know how life was like until 1968 in East Pakistan. I just knew that there were many cyclones and a lot of damage. Being a poor country I don't know if Pakistan had the means to take any solid measures. Why didn't the people move to safer locations? Those troubled areas should never be inhabited since they will always be affected by natural disasters.
@Bengal4life1 So my feelings are that the truth should come forward. We should know how much was being spent on East Pakistan. If it was 52% and 48% division, then the difference is not much. We should also see if a poor country like Pakistan had the means to fix cyclone problems. Didn't Ayub Khan build any industries in Bangladesh? Weren't any new schools being formed? We should objectively analyse the problems bengalis faced. Were these problems too insurmountable for any nation?
@Bengal4life1 If Pakistan Army is accused of rape and plunder then Mukti-Bahini should NOT escape the trials. They murdered many non-bengalis for which the troops had to be sent. That is the fact of the matter. Now no one is saying that Bengal was not neglected. That what Mukti Bahini did was the result of all that exploitation but still you don't kill INNOCENT people. I think if the facts were 25%, then 75% was the propaganda, exaggeration, media-manipulation, international pressure etc.
@Bengal4life1 Mujeeb was secular minded and pro-communism from the start. India saw a natural partner who was Bengali Racist and anti Pakistan movement. Anyways, I am only against half-truths and lies. I feel that the truth SHOULD be uncovered by both Bangladeshis and Pakistanis. There is no point in dwelling on PROPAGANDA. Bangladesh was created when Agartalla conspiracy was exposed. Mujeeb should have been hanged for TREASON which he actually was guilty of since he was still a Pakistani.
@Bengal4life1 You have not understood me. I am against oppression done to anyone. I agree that the corrupt "officials" who took the reign of Pakistan after Liaqat Ali Khan had very racist mindset. They were not democratic in spirit. They not only wronged you but many others within Pakistan. My only complain is that Bengalis didn't fight for their rights within United Pakistan. Their feelings were then MANIPULATED by the enemies of Pakistan who consistently fed them wrong information.
@asherfawad i've never came across someone who is so contradicting as you. You do agree that Bangalis were wronged yet when Bangalis decided to fight the wrong you telling me the Bangalis were wrong to do that?. Listen I pray that all the muslim countries thrive and prosper. The three people who were involved dividing Pakistan were killed by their own people. This is Allah's justice.
@asherfawad " Does Allah(swt) rewards people the status of shaheed who fight for their language?" - Allah has created evey men equal. Thus, Allah didn't give one man the right to go over and take away another man's right. Hence, freedom of speech was being taken away here.
@asherfawad "you would have been devoured by India just like Hyderabad Deccan, Kashmir and Junagarh" - at least they would be under better supervision. "Pakistan has accepted creation of Bangladesh and we feel that we should have started out with separate countries " - so what's the problem here.
@rose3913 You did. Look at how you became nuts about language issue. Then you have created "Language Martyrs" monument. Does Allah(swt) rewards people the status of shaheed who fight for their language? Martyrdom has a very specific meaning in Islam.
@rose3913 No, that is not the end. Pakistan has accepted creation of Bangladesh and we feel that we should have started out with separate countries but at the same time, you would have been devoured by India just like Hyderabad Deccan, Kashmir and Junagarh
So I do call for reinvestigation and reflection so we know the truth. 1971 case is declassified and with little research, one can find out what really went on.
