The mighty US Steel. Here it is paired with a Les Paul and the clean channel of my Laney VC50. Tech 21 saw fit to put a speaker emulation 'defeat' button on the new range so I'm showing you what it can do when the US Steel is used as a standard stomp. Not bad, I reckon!

Your thoughts?

  • @XDev999 тханкс ман!

  • i find your demos really helpful sir. The best demos.

Which one's better and more natural sounding if used as a regular stompbox in front of any guitar amp in general, this U.S. steel or the AMT electronics R1? thanks sir!

  • @drumtrone10 Hi there. I think I'd have to give that award to the US Steel in this case as it has a dedicated 'speaker emulation' on/off defeat button, put there with your exact application in mind - so you can use it as a stompbox. The R1 can be tweaked to be used in the same way but doesn't quite achieve the same results IMO. It's virtues lie in using it the way it was designed to be used - as a preamp.

  • I like your descending scale runs. Real nuno bettencourt sounding. Especially with that pedal

  • what is the difference of using it straight in front of the amp and preamp??

  • Any chance of getting a lead tone for Petrucci solos from this machine or would I better use Tech21 California or GT2?

  • hi mr. burgerman, i got my us steel pedal. it's awsome!! it's such a versatile pedal. You can get tones close to avenged sevenfold-city of evil kind of tone to foo fighters to hoobastank to blink 182 to alter bridge and a lot more tones of course. i think u can get all mesa rectifier tones out of this box. IMO.. very cool pedal...i also have the amt r1....but i kind of find its tone quite saturated...and i like the mids and versatility of the US steel..tnx again for the great demos!!

  • @Burgerman666 Thank you so much sir burgerman.....you're the best! Keep on rockin' with your great demos....=)
