This is still a very disturbing and scary game to play. I kind of "missed out" on SH when it was first released and only recently I decided to pick it up again and play it as thoroughly as I could. It's great.

Totally different styles, don't compare. Silent Hill is psychological horror, Amnesia is more based on panic/situation horror. I found the game to be horrifying in two parts; Back Hall Storage & Prison. Silent Hill invokes genuine fear at almost any and every occasion.
Nevertheless both are extremely good games. I was seriously surprised after finishing Amnesia, the story & gameplay left me begging for more. Such a fine masterpiece.

Well, if you look at those sewers/"otherside" areas in the published shots off Downpour, they look like something out of RAC rather than anything even remotely similar to Silent Hill.

@erika50666 The sad thing is that when Americans are influenced by Japanese, they do not make characters look like "Asians".
Just look at DragonBall movie. They casted a white man to play Goku.
It's just the way it is. Asian countries have no problem drawing their own game's main character as a White person but Western countries? They'd never draw a Asian character and putting that as a main character. yeah well White people are ruling the world, what can we do haha

The producer of this game got lots of ideas from the American movie, and we love how they make the atmosphere. So why can't we imagine and create an another story from it? I'm not super proud of my country, but I like how they remake things from imported ideas...like this game :)

Why characters look like white?
Isn't this Japanese game? Their self-hate is almost embarrassing.
Their "gyaru"culture is also stupid girls trying their best to look like white so bleach the shit out of their hair, wearing only blue green light-brown contacts. etc etc

i remember,when there was not the internet,we have been waiting since the preview in,then Greek Gamepro,to have the cd with the trailer,and when it arrived it scared the hell out of us!We were amazed from the graphics and all this horror this game had to offer back then!i hope someday,after all those horror movies and games something will come out to scare us out like the old good times!Cheers S.H. fans!

i miss the old silent hill games more than another new crappy silent hill downpour which is more like a puzzle solving game instead of horror...
