I'd like to try the rice that the cooker makes and see if it's really worth the hype and that price tag.

$1,000 ???
Cuckoo $200~$500 .
and the best !
-
Cuckoo is the equivalent to the HTC models and JG, though they have cheaper non IH pressure cookers, equivalent to the PX series.
-
@beastie20 Or a Korean Cuckoo rice cooker.

@spacecoke In actuality, the moistness of the rice should cause some moderate clumping but, & here is the crux, the clumped rice should be individually distinct and full bodied, that is it should never be gelatinous and over-moist / undercooked unless that is the effect you are aiming for. As well, some rices from other ethnic groups are fried to a drier, crispier texture. While that is OK it does destroy some of the nutrient density and value compared to steamed rice. Just my 2 cents. Thanks

Until the day I can afford a Ferrari, this rice cooker is out of my price range.
If you can afford a luxury car, buy a Zojirushi HTC or Sanyo ECJ-JG.
If you're a common folk like me, go for something like the Sanyo ECJ-PX or Zojirushi NS-ZCC's.
IMO.
