Another famous scene from the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley, Steve Jobs barges into a interview between then Apple CEO Mike Markkula and a prospective Apple Employee, Mr. Brewster. Jobs begins asking about Brewster's sexual history, the scene is both humorous and painful to watch.

Pirates of Silicon Valley is a made-for-TV motion picture made in 1998 telling the story of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs rise to fame in Microsoft and Apple, respectively.

  • this is sorta like what happens at about 90% of interviews at Google.

  • This really did happen, quote from one of the mac developers who was in the room.

"How old were you when you lost your virginity?", Steve asked

    "What did you say?"

    "Are you a virgin?"

"How many times have you taken LSD?"

  • @Invesigator because humiliating someone decades before means you should die

    okay.

  • @BastBlack Correct.

  • After seeing how Jobs humiliated the interviewee, maybe it he deserved to pass away in 2011. I bet Mr. Brewster was oner of the very few people who was happy that he died before his 60's.

  • @mornnb

Yeah, but Steve started laughing during the real thing. So did his comrades, Andy Hertzfeld & Burrell Smith. lol

  • Did this really happen?? O_o

  • are you a virgin?! oh steve you're cracking me up like haywire! you're so crazy!!!

  • fuck Jobs

  • This film misunderstood a real life event. Steve Jobs was abrasive in the incident, but he was not asking about someone's sex life or breaking EEO law, he was looking for "Code Virgins" (a Silicon Valley term) so that Apple couldn't be sued for violating patents. Apple needed employees untainted by handling IBM code/products. The guy was a tainted IBMer, he was unhireable for legal reasons. Check out PBS' "Triumph of the Nerds." It covers the reverse-engineering term, "Code Virgins."
