People hurled shoes at an inflatable George W. Bush today at Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. A group called Arrest Bush put on the event, and is planning a rally for Tuesday, inauguration day. (Video by Jennifer Weiss/The Star-Ledger)
Bush was not such a bad president, I liked him. He had character and a spine. Obama hasn't done shit, now lets see an inflatable Obama and we should throw a shoe at him, OH WAIT!! it would be racist. What ever, fuck Obama
That guy (Jose Rodriguez) is a friend of mine. We actually travelled to Gaza together recently with Code Pink and he is one of the most decent people I have ever had the priviledge to meet. The only arsehole here is you.
A beautiful action on the right moment in history. The journalist was brave enough to risk prison or worse, just to let the world know how much the Iraqi people have hated this war and the Bush/Cheney policies of torture and control and war. We SHOULD be encouraging that kind of courage in citizens here as well.
I prefer to think of stuff like this and the way ppl booed Bush on inauguration day as an exercise in frustration. True, not every problem our nation is experiencing now is 100% his fault. But for many, his presidency became a tormenting symbol of everything that was going wrong, and it created an image that nothing would ever start to go right till he was gone. Gestures like this were about mental release-the thrill of knowing it was over.
Its hard to believe their are ignorant people out there like you and can't see what the hell is happening in this country. Why don't you educate yourself?
Most of these people are fucking dumb ignorant ass holes! Let them be president for a day! Everyone blames Bush for America's problems! Stick Abraham Lincoln in as President in todays world, and he would have made the same choices! Bush was actually a fair president! He did what was best for our nation. (Yes he did make many errors)
