dCourier.com presents: A landmark of days past and fun times fell in Prescott on Oct. 15, 2008 and Daily Courier was there. We share this visual sidebar of what many might miss as they drive south along Senator Highway from Prescott.
Very sad! I question, though, WHY the tradesperson required a bucket for this takedown? I originally thought that he was dismantling the screen, not the marquee! Hello??? It's NOT that large of a sign! I'm sure a ladder would've sufficed, but I'm just a historian, so what do I know! Dave Lounder, CT (Drive-In Theatre Historian and Former Drive-In Operator)
Beautifully shot, and I also wonder what happened to that piece of Americanna. You'd be surprised at where various pieces of these drive ins land. It would be sad if it was just trashed or scrapped. Thanks for a fine video.
I think they've got to put something "better" back on... Life is a come and go, after all. Would love to share to you my videos to cheer you up... Keep in touch!
I looked closer and I can see the sign was tagged with graffiti paint. I wonder where the sign goes? I believe this landmark deserves to go to a good home.
