My imagined version.
According to Roger Waters, Barrett came into what was to be THE Pink Floyd's last practice session with a new song he had dubbed "Have You Got It Yet?". The song seemed simple enough when he first presented it to his bandmates, but it soon became impossibly difficult to learn and they eventually realized that while they were practising it, Barrett kept changing the arrangement. He would then play it again, with the arbitrary changes, and sing "Have you got it yet?". Eventually they realized they never would and that they were simply bearing the brunt of Barrett's idiosyncratic sense of humour

  • hey thewillsaunders, did you finish this song or you got it from somewhere. If you did it, good job it sounds too authentic for a Barrett tune.

  • @idioticscheme666 Hi cheers thanks, yes its just my imagined version of what the idea for this song might have sounded like based on R Waters remembering of the incident...you can see him tell it on the sidebar here...>

  • @AloeVera84 Got it right from the start and was lucky I did not have to play with Syd but only had to listen to him. The other Guys were adept at jamming and got it or else it would not be here 40+ years later and still entertaining us.

  • @Radsicles i dont think so .this sounds like a real song.the way roger explains it is that syd was changing chords .and structures.and was a totally non sense kind of song.imposible for all of them to learn

  • So this is the "impossible" song that he wrote as a joke? Sounds like me when I'm trying to play normally, lol.

  • @idioticscheme666 have yo got it yet?

  • @BrotherURD Wait... who is roger walters and what are you talking about? Lol

  • Haha, this sounds exactly as Roger described it =) Rad!

  • Have u got it yet, chink cha chink chink...have you got it yet, chink ..chink chink, have you got it yet...unchink chachink chink chink chink...:)

  • Syd had unique great talent & vision! Drugs are blamed, but have to wonder if internal band fighting, girl-friends & hangers on, the industry, media exposure also took their toll on him too. I feel his band mates abandoned him, tho' felt sorry for him many years later. Good beat/song.. very raw & surrreal, genuine research music coming out of the rabbit hole. Genius
