A Tribute to Halo: My Halo 3 Medley

Alright, so this is a piece that I made entirely in Apple's GarageBand.

I now own Halo 3 (gamertag = HarmonicVoltage) and as I played through the campaign, I realized that I liked the soundtrack a good bit. I felt like I could reproduce some of it, so I tried.

I'd love to know how you think I did; constructive criticism is fine, but seriously, please don't be a jerk in your comments, or start up petty arguments.

As for the video portion of this piece, I didn't want to gather cinematic Halo images because of time, so I just recorded a slideshow of my "Universe pictures" iPhoto. Sometimes, the pictures fit the mood, sometimes - maybe not.

Whatever the case, the main focus is definitely the music: if the YouTube version renders as well as the original file sound-wise, then to do the piece some justice, you might wanna use high quality headphones or speaker.

It's fitting to watch the whole thing since it's a medley, by the way.

What IS 'GarageBand'?

Is it a program on the computer / easy to use / free?

It's a Mac-only application designed for music composition/voiceovers/soundtr­acks. It's very cool.

wow man! it sounds complete, deep, and intense (especially in the beginning)! i am a gb fan too and i like composing short songs but they never sound this complete, it always looks like there's sth missing. i been working on the bass line lately but it's still not enough. any advice?? and another thing, is there anywhere where can i download loops and other stuff to fill in??

It was, it was made in Garage Band. The MIDI drums there are close to terrible. But the song's really good.
