"The Philosopher Cube" is a large public projection piece created for a festival here in Ottawa called Electric Fields ( http://electricfields.ca ). It is basically is a large projection downtown of an "alien" cube that asks passers-by questions about the human race such as "What is love?" or "what is justice?" etc. People can then reply by tweeting to http://twitter.com/efcube. These answers are then projected in real-time onto the wall and after a few minutes of receiving questions the cube will present an "answer" of random words from the answers given - think "refrigerator poetry." It uses primitive projection mapping and OpenGL/C++ using Cinder Frameworks ( http://libcinder.org ).

Thanks to Algonquin College and Artengine, and Rideau Centre for their collaboration and funding; and to Cinder Frameworks' developers for their help.

And a special thanks to James Acres of Algonquin, Ryan Stec of Artengine, and Tim Olden of Blendid for their great advice.

Showing November 4th through November 7th 2010 6pm - 12am Eastern.
