  • Oh so that's what it was about

  • why would you not want to own a home? I wouldnt want to pay rent month after month only to have nothing to show for when I move out in a few years. Nothing against someone who rents, but I personally would want slowly buy my own piece of property.

  • @MrPloppy1 That's just not accurate, actually.

  • @Qwofacenosehead Capitalism isn't a zero-sum-game. It's not that someone is poor because someone else is rich. When I go to the baker and buy a loaf of bread for $3, I do it because I value the bread more than the $3 and the baker values my $3 more than the bread. I'm richer in bread, the baker's richer by $3. We both benefit. There are no losers.

BTW competition benefits the poor more than the rich, and my second point was a critique of any system other than a TRUE free-market system.

  • what is the song ?

  • @MslmDude if you buy above your means anything will own you. your car, appliances etc. if you don't get a house your family line will fade away to nothing. nothing is more important than your home and you need it. not owning a home isn't a failure due to social pressure, ask the people who are in that situation. ask them if they feel like a failure because of the tv and newspapers or is it because they will die with nothing substantial to pass onto their family. a home > everything else.

  • @nobeefbaby Many people say that they don't really own their homes, their homes own them... having a home restrains your dreams' span and limits you to a certain geographical area. I think it's time to think otherwise, housing is a primary human need (security: 2nd in maslow's hierarchy of needs) but our dreams and planning for life shouldn't be based on it. also, not to owning a home after retirement is still a synonym of failure in life, it's a social pressure, and it shouldn't be this way!

  • "psychedelic"

    hahaha.

  • Ryan Dunn @ 1:28 ?

  • @spicyxeskimo I think they are promoting the idea that we should be happy with us paying the banks rent to live in any home we have.
