Say what you want about Ric Flair, his ability to make the people believe anyone could beat him is unsurpassed. Look at Hogan, squashing everyone in his day. Not Flair. He usually took more bumps than the job guys! He kept feeding, making the fans get behind South and Stallion. Then they were even more pissed when he and Windham beat 'em. Brilliant!
@Boojkill He did the same thing with Brad Armstrong. In fact, on an edition of WCW Pro, Armstrong actually scored an upset victory over Flair via DQ. It was a really strange finish for a C-show squash, but after having a back and forth match, Flair was caught using brass knucks and the ref threw the match out. I figured it was Flair trying to give Brad a little rub.
@CombatSportFan In Flair's book, he writes about being a big fan of George South's wrestling and was his favorite jobber to wrestle against. If you watch Flair's matches against South, he makes South look like a million dollars in the ring. For a minute, you'd think he'd beat Flair, but then a minute later you knew who'd win.
That flurry of offense from George South is what made Flair so respected and so great. Think Hogan would have ever leg a jobber get over even that much on him? Heck, even Steve Austin or The Rock might have been hard pressed to give a prelim wrestler that much to work with. Yet guys like Flair and Sting did it, and they are still highly regarded to this day as a result.
George Souths' mullet is awesome!

Wow, if Windham didn't have that handful of trunks, George and Stallion might have won.
