I suppose you could argue that the state couldn't afford the program, but really? The argument she picked smacked of heartlessness. But at least she wasn't being an "elitist" like those lower income kids were.

Yeah, a very good case could indeed be made about that. They claim to be Christian but only walk it superficially...just like the Pharisees did in the old days...the know-it-all's who did not practice what they preached, were corrupt up to their head dresses, and chastised all who opposed them, only their interpretation of "the Law" was what mattered. Sad, really sad.
