@katnjas i think you aren't understanding katnjas comment. They are right. His laminitis happened because he broke his back right leg. Forcing him to put more weight on his left hind hoof. That caused the laminitis. Due to his two hind legs being bad.. he started putting more weight on his front ones and as a result.. got the laminitis in both front legs. Meaning none of his legs were now healthy to support him without him having to suffer. So weak bones = broken leg = laminitis = dying.
@laughterbuddies0 I readh that that is part of it, maybe it's colic. Also, just like when we favor one leg due to injury of the other, the leg we favor gets stressed. That stress is a lot for a horse to take.
Barbaro came very close to surviving, which was sad.
She switches leads in the strangest way and then withers in pain the next stride just before she collapses. Strange...
