  • ok, its only ok. i'm sorry, but i mean, this song has a lot more meaning than he "just doesn't want to wake up" this is not profound and it doesn't really have to do with the song. music videos need to describe how the singer was feeling in a realistic context. realistically, who sleeps on stairs? even someone who is depressed wouldn't sleep upside down onh stairs

  • I respect your opinion =). But the context goes further than just someone that wants to sleep and that's it. The magic of a shortfilm, it's to make your own story about it. If your imagination and comprehension couldn't go further, it doesn't mean that this film it's not profound.

But it's okay if you see it that way. I just wanted to make that point clear... Open your mind, not everything it's exactly as it seems.

  • Oh, and about sleeping on the stairs... Dude, it's a shortfilm, you can do whatever you want to in it, if you want your character to sleep in a banana, it will happen =).

Thanks for your point of view, by the way ^_^.

  • Morrissey caused much controversy with that song, of all Morrisseys lyrics concerning suicide 'Asleep' is the bleakest, more than eloquently articulating an unshakeable world-weariness simply for poetic effect, asleep actively eulogises it. The cause of Morrissey's death wish is his fatigue over constantly waking up alone, though as he slips from this life to the next, his final macabre wish is to be serenaded. groaning his dying breath, the closing exhortation of 'Auld lang Syne' A masterpiece!

  • im reading it for the second time atm...

listen to blackbird by the beatles :)

  • It is my interpretation of how Morrissey probably felt at the time he wrote this song.....

  • Is that your own interpretation of it? Or is that how Morrissey felt at the time of writing?

  • Illustrating The Smiths at their darkest emotional ebb, Asleep is as beautiful as it is ghastly; a song of assiduous despair, it is the harsh and authentic clamour of the human soul at its most nihilistic.... Sing me to sleep And then leave me alone Don't try to wake me in the morning 'Cause I will be gone Don't feel bad for me I want you to know Deep in the cell of my heart I will feel so glad to go To die, to sleep; To sleep: perchance to dream
  • about the abyss- hey it's a quotation from Nietzsche,

looking into abysses is a philosophers hobby...

    nice though...

  • nice presentation.

    Happy New Year,

  • This is great. I think you should elaborate on this video: give it some more body. Nice use of camera angles. You might want to consider trying those shots with a tripod, so it looks cleaner.

    Keep it up man!
