it is two to one on the simple syrup question, but its really a matter of personal preference.

The sour mix is just ridiculous. you don't need it. better off squeezing them into individual containers. then in an empty glass, mix 1 1/2 to 2 oz. base spirit, 1oz simple syrup, 3/4 oz lemon juice and a dash of egg white. shake in dry glass to emulsify.(u can leave egg white out) then add ice and shake. it's one of the oldest recipe's out there and this guy just made it look like swamp water! Then strain into glass up or on the rocks, yes, with a cherry and an orange.

i bartend at a night club and i make this drink called a witch doctor, i make a big jug of it, i put melon,coconut(malibu,or admiral nelson)bananna,regular rum then oj,pineapple,cranberry then after i pour into cup i put just a little piece of dry ice in it and it bubbles...people love the bubbles. hope it helps...if you have any questions about it or any other drinks hit me up on my page...
