  • Hmmmm. Yeah, the age old question of morality and religion. What a sticky wicket. Prior to transitioning I was a Eucharistic Minister in the Catholic church. Now, I'm not even welcome to participate in Mass. Am I a moral person? I feel that I am. I have found that I have to depend on myself for my relationship with God. Woulld I prefer to go to Mass? Yes. Can I get along without attending Mass? Yes. Bottom line, do what you have to do, and keep God in your heart. :-)

  • @stockingcpl I think you just hit the nail on the head. I think a lot of LGBT find that they can only be one or the other (church or LGBT), when really it is within yourself to find the faith and find your God that compels you and your life to make a higher purpose. Church is amazing in that it is a community to share faith, but at the core of it, it is just you and the Big Man. ;)

  • There's a terrific documentary called "Fish out of Water". The person who made it breaks down several key bible verses often used to denounce gays and investigates what they really mean...a great watch. The part about Sodom and Gamorrah is particularly enlightening.

  • @CineRam Great movie! -Katie :)

  • I go to a Christian college, and being gay.. i hear and talk about this topic all the time. that is from the people that know. My roommate who happens to be my best friend is very religious, we often talk about this all the time. our view on it is its not so much in the bible its the person. Liberals tend to look upon the bible but not word for word, and conservative absorb mostly every aspect. I would love to converse on this topic more if you ever get the chance.

  • @Sunbear1113 Shoot me an email on my personal channel (thecardisle), I'd LOVE to converse :) -Katie

  • God comes down in the flesh in Jesus Christ and pays the penalty for sin on our behalf and declares us righteous before him and accepts us as we are and continually makes us live unto holiness. At the core, this isn't about hetero or homosexuality, it is a sin issue. We are not perfect...and perfect is God's standard. But he makes a way of reconciliation with Him through Christ Jesus. I would love to hear your thoughts. God bless

  • such as masturbation and females are wrong. However, Romans 1:27-28 add lesbianism (the only text that does).

    2) There may be a stigma that God "hates homosexuals" and wants to see them burn. No, he does not. The bible states that God does not delight in sending anyone to eternal punishment. God is holy and cannot look upon any form of sin wither it be sexual sin, lying, gossip, murderers or what have you. But the beauty of the Bible and the Gospel of Christ is that (cont.)...

  • I admire your effort Ms. Katie. Not too many people would take the time to research Greek so I would want to affirm you in that. Way to go!

I would just add a couple of thoughts:

    1) there are two Greek words that refer to male homosexuality (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-10) those words are μαλακός [malakos /mal·ak·os/] and ἀρσενοκοίτης [arsenokoites /ar·sen·ok·oy·tace/], the one you mentioned. And the refer to both the active and passive partners and most bible translators who add terms...(cont.)

  • Years ago, when I was 14 (Knowing I was gay without my parents knowing yet) my Mother and Father separated. My Dad went a long way away. He became a man of "God" but not actually a Catholic because he's divorced by law with the Church of England. He's a strong believer and just a few weeks ago (now 18) I told him I am gay, he accepts it and so does the Father he lives with. I have many Catholic/Christian friends. They understand, but do not approve. It's hard, you know?

  • @sweetguy410 God Bless You.

  • @CineRam thanks for the tip, i'll be watching it soon!

  • Love your ideas

  • bible says alot of bullshit if it tells you so why dont you drink poison it says you wont die so if you refuse you have no faith just talk shit

  • @stockingcpl THe church has really become demonic, don't give up on God, christians are in for a rude awakening. Read Psalms 118:8 and Matthew 15:9. God loves us and to come as we are.
