Just got my new 25 in the mail today and here it is getting its first steaming. The 25 is the electric version of the 75. I've had my fill of methanol and esbit for now and wanted an every day electric engine.
I later found out that my exhaust tube was keeping it from going full speed. Backpressure I expect. I oiled the snot out of it for tonight, so it got messy. It does indeed have rather wet steam, though - my condenser was bubbling constantly - so I suppose it wouldn't need too much oil once broken in.
Alright. Thanks!!!

nah you should have fun which ever engine you buy..you should look into both Jenson and Wilesco.. the jenson is really neat and has a lot of features..just noticed mine started leaking steam from the throttle valve and whistle after several runs..need new seals for the whistle not sure how to service the rest of the parts..

matacks: So would you recommend a Wilesco over a Jensen? Because I was thinking about buying my first steam engine and it was a toss up between those two and I decided to eventually to get the Jensen 75. And what kind of maintenance come with owning a model steam engine?

These Jenson ones sure make alot of power but I've found the wilesco engines to run a bit smoother...leaver it to those Germans to show everybody up... I hope jenson finds a way to refine their models to work better than the Wilesco's.. but well Im American..
