"Armenian Lullaby" by Rafael Patkanian, Irina Patkanian, Lilit Pipoyan

My great grand father (Rafael Patkanian) wrote this poem in the late 19c. Lilit Pipoyan graciously lent the project her musical interpretation and performance of the poem. Traditionally its considered a patriotic song: in the country that survived many wars and a genocide, sons primary vocation has been to become soldiers. I dedicate my interpretation to Mothers of all soldiers.

I keep on listening to this over and over again almost every day and the language sounds very beautiful for my Russian ear :) Even though I hear it quite often - I live in the area of Rostov called Nahichevan with a large Armenian population. Greetings from Russia. Спасибо.
