@MyChemicalJasper483 There is no replacement for displacement. Large displacement, naturally aspirated engines last much longer than tiny turbo engines, and can run on regular gas, while these tiny overboosted engines require pemium, or you will lose all the power from the boost.

TSI engine = saftey???? LOL

@hugostv Dude from Cypress made the 1.4TSI up to 500+ hp
I can send you a link to a thread on forum.

@evydaemon Nothing wrong with the turbo on this engine, just muppets treating turbo like crap ie. not letting turbo cool down before turning off, revving the shit out of it when its cold and not bothering to change the oil.
Whats not cost effective about this engine?the extra fuel you would use in a 3.0 l v6 could buy the car after three years.
the reason why these engines blow up is because some powerhorse fanatics will try to upgrade to a bigger turbo thinkin that any turbo on any car can be upgraded to a bigger one. TSI turbo is not meant to be upgraded, it was designed at moderate power gains with a goal of keepin it fuel efficient. It's not a tuner's car, it's just a family car with a bit of extra farting power.
