  • I watched a clip of Richard Chamberlain being interviewed many years after the thorn birds, apparently (If memory serves me right) He was completely nude in the porch scene and barbara stanwyk actually mussed up her line because of it. It was funny because Chamberlain said his first thought at this was: "Oh...turned her on a bit!" LOL! :-D

  • @Aprann Which line did she mess up? The very first one she says when Barbara see's him?

  • @Aprann Never mind, I know what you're talking about(:

  • aca son todos unos abusadores jajaaj

  • @natulinab ¡Espero que no! :D

  • I don't find Mary evil, just a lonely old woman whose life is near the end and hopelessly in love with Ralph knowing she can never have him.

  • @yardgoods LOL; only if you apply for the part of the wild BOAR, or should I say BORE? You are so pathetic. What a loser.

  • @TheSkylur44 If they remake The Thornbirds, why don't you see about getting a bit part playing a gender ambivalent dingo?

  • @yardgoods Glad you got out your dictionary this time! As to your opinion, that is your opinion, as I stated, both are technically brillaint and you are the one who brought up Ms. Stanwyck, but again, both are good actors, obviously. MY opinion is that if they remake this movie I hope they cast a heterosexual actor to play Ralph. Get it now or is it too much information coming in all at once?

  • @TheSkylur44 A disingenuous apology about sarcasm and a nasty remark about intelligence and hubris. Such passive/aggressiveness. I didn't say you called BS a transsexual, that was me being sarcastic. Gender ambivalence is related to transsexuals, not bi and gay men and women. The latter know what they want (or don't want) -- there's no ambiguity involved. I repeat that Chamberlain is/Stanwyck was a good actor. Their sexuality had no AFFECT on the roles they played in The Thornbirds.

  • @yardgoods "

Snotty?" I DEEPLY apologize if that is what you thought, what you mistook for "snotty" was, in fact, sarcasm.I also never stated at any time that Ms. Stanwyck was transsexual, that is your term, not mine. And I understand her gender "ambivalence" did not AFFECT (not EFFECT) her ability to "play straight roles convincingly." As to "major issues" that is your "issue" my dear friend. Try a little more intelligence and far less hubris. Hvae a nice day.

  • @TheSkylur44 Belated reply to your snotty response to my initial comment: Barbara Stanwyck's "gender ambivalence"? She wasn't a transsexual -- she was a woman who went to bed with men and other women. This did not effect her playing straight roles convincingly. Yes, we can agree to disagree. Everyone is entitled to her/his opinions. But some of us apparently have major issues which should be challenged when they are stated in an public forum such as YouTube. Now you have a nice day.

  • @yardgoods Having a striaght actor playhing the role of a straght man would, of course, be much more interesting and believable. As good as Chamberlain was, he could not be entirely convincing. And yes, thank you for the bulletin but I am aware of Ms. Stanwyck's gender ambivalence. And yes, that is exactly what I am saying. DIsagree? Your prerogative as it is mine to have my own opinion. Have a nice day.

  • @TheSkylur44 If a straight actor with less talent than the "technically brilliant Chamberlain" had played Ralph, would it have been "more interesting"? Are you saying that gay actors can't convincingly play straight roles when so many straight actors do the reverse? Good acting is always good acting. By the way, are you aware that Barbara Stanwyck was at least bisexual if not a lesbian. Doesn't seem to have interfered one bit with her playing randy old Mary Carson with such gusto!
