Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine expressing his support for The December 12th West Coast Port Shutdown.

The shutdown is a co-ordinated response by the Occupy Wall Street movement to the brutal, co-odinated repression of OWS by the 1%.

It is also in solidarity with the longshoremen's struggle in Longview, WA, against the union-busting activities of the international grain exporter, EGT.

As well, it's in solidarity with port truckers, largely immigrant, who are grossly underpaid and whose efforts to collectively bargain for higher wages have been thwarted by Goldman Sachs, who owns SSA terminals.

Every seaport, from Anchorage to San Diego will be shut down.
All of the Occupy encampments in Texas are coming together to shut down the port of Houston.
Occupy Denver and Occupy Salt Lake will be shutting down the Walmart distribution center.
In Chiba City, Japan, railworkers will block the shipment of EGT grain.

Tom Morello is a successful musician who has made music with lyrics that encourage this sort of action. He has been known to materially and financially support actual revolutionary movements- from mass movements for reform to armed struggle- throughout the world.

  • @100crawma No, I suggest you re read what I wrote. I did not say that just because he agrees with the protesters that it makes him a better person. I simply said that people should stop bashing on him because he had absolutely nothing to do with the economic downturn and the housing collapse. The movement is not against all rich people in this country. It is against corrupt wall street bankers who caused the economic downturn in our country. Tom is a musician. Not a Wall street banker.

  • @defpow Are you kidding? The gestapo police are the blood spillers. How is protesting an unjust system, un-American? OWS has been steadily gaining support. Stop listening to the bullshit on the news. Those who would silence dissent, have only been adding to our numbers.

  • Hey dummies, he was speaking about this stuff in his music long before he had any money. that was what 20 years ago? The 99% isnt after people like him because he isnt the part of the problem, he is part of the solution, he gets it and always has. Keep looking into stuff you'll find your way, stay away from the corporate Media lies, and read, read, read.

  • @100crawma Jeez dude can you read? You have asked me the same question twice. I have no idea if he uses the banks that these people own. That is not what I am saying. I am saying HE IS NOT TO BLAME FOR THE FINANCIAL DOWNTURN, because he is not a banker. Not all rich people are bad, and not all rich people are the target of the occupy movement. Just the bankers that screwed over our country. It has nothing to do with him agreeing with the movement.
