Jan Karski recalls his now-famous encounter in 1943 with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter. Seated in the same ballroom where he met with the Jewish jurist, Karski recalls Frankfurter's response to first-hand news of the ongoing Nazi Holocaust in Europe. Frankfurter's reaction illustrates the human capacity for acknowledging reality while simultaneously denying it. [Interview footage filmed in 1996 with Jan Karski (1914-2000). Interviewer is E. Thomas Wood, author of the biography Karski: How One Man Tried to Stop the Holocaust (Wiley, 1994). Roughly four hours of Beta-SP footage available for usage. Contact: tom@the-wood-family.org.]
