_____________
I play the following instruments in this recording:
- Mahogany Fluke Tenor (modified by myself with open geared Grover tuners)
- Ibanez AEB10E Acoustic Bass Guitar
- Meinl Ibo Drum (ID1BKR)
- Hohner Echo Harp (C major)
_____________
I have used the lyrics exactly as provided by Deach, however I have combined the two choruses into one and used some other chords. Here's how I play it:

She's never alone (Deach)

1)
[C] genny is a mom
[Em] of 3 young boys
[Dm] she works 2 jobs
[Am] [E7] just to give them toys

[C] she looks at them
[Em] with joy in her eyes
[Dm] but there's loneliness
[Am] [E7] she hides from her guys

Chorus:
[F]she's never alone but she's always lonely
[C]surrounded by people her thoughts scream "if only [F]"
[F] her face is calm but her thoughts scream how [C] long can this last
I [F] need someone to share my life is [E7] that too much to ask :| [Am]

Harp Solo

2)
the days drag by
but the years are fast
she wakes up alone
cries and curses her past

but she has her boys
they can't see her sad
keeps her head down
she's the mom and the dad

Bridge (picking):
as [Am] genny leaves for [E7] work
she [F] looks at her husband
still [E7] drunk on the couch

Chorus

  • Very soft and mellow Dirk! Beautiful melody! (This video was the reason for getting my Ibanez AEB10E Bass, too)

  • @manolismoumouzias Thank you Manolis! I'm glad you like the acoustic bass, too. I've put tape-wound strings on it and they sound really nice. Also Deach writes excellent songs! :-)

  • Wow, this was truly wonderful too :D

  • @kissing88 Thanks a lot, Sam! As soon as the weather gets better I'm going to practice the ocarina in the park (I can't do it at home because of my neighbours...)

  • Wow dear! This is amazing! So mellow and beautiful! This has made me feel a bit emotional, can totally relate to it. I haven't seen the original, so off to see that now, a really excellent job dear! You keep doing these amazing videos! :-) X

  • Thanks so much, dear! Deach is the poet of these lyrics, Ruth. They have moved me, too.

  • Thank you very much, Michelle! I'm very happy with the fluke - it's got a nice sound, is really loud and very playable! I'm already practicing to sing these Spanish lyrics... :-)

  • Thanks a lot! I'm glad you like it.

  • Thank you so much, Stew!

  • Wow Dirk, this is awesome!!!! I loved this song as soon as Deach published it, and you've done a really beautiful arrangement of it. Fantastic! Your mahogany fluke is sounding great. Are you happy with it? Those tuners you put on it look really cool!
