This is the full set of Mathmos Fluidiums
Orange, Yellow, Green and Opal

The orange one is BRAND NEW, this video is the first time it has set up and run which is why it's a little slower than the others.
The opal is in as new condition also and has only been used a few times, a very rare lamp.

I also have the colour boosting bulbs for these so I will upload another video soon to show the difference in colour.

I will upload more videos of my collection soon
Thanks for watching

  • I just LOVE lava lamps, Fluidium are one of my favourites.

Got an orange and white Fluidium, unfortunately the liquid isn't transparent anymore - it's cloudy due to transportation :-(

There are no bottles for the orange and white ones anymore :-((

Anyone got an advice how to make the liquid transparent again? Some say that letting the lamp run one week non-stop with an 100W bulb (not 40W as reccomended) would divide the mixed liquids again. Anyone can affirm that?

    Thanks very much!

  • @SoeurJacQui hi there! I would NOT recommend a 100w bulb! your fluidiums would melt! (dont think you can get a 100w bulb in that size!)

You could give them a full run, and leave them for a month or so - the liquid may come clear. OR you could buy a MSR filter, and filter the liquid. in doing this, also melt the wax. and then freeze it, and add it again, Once you have filtered the liquid. your lamps will then look new.

  • I think the light coming through the plastic makes them look cheap.

  • wish they were cheap. The opal one alone can fetch upto £250 on ebay, the next most expensive being the orange one.

  • Yeah, I know, I would just not bother with those because the look so cheap. I would go from some classic Lava Lite ones or some Astros from Mathmos.

  • Mathmos did an internal protector for the fluidiums originally (tube to fit over the light) so the light was just cast above.

have you seen the mathmos jets ? They are coloured too.

I wasn't keen on the fluidiums at first, but i love the unusual shape of them.

  • These remind me of the Auras lava lamps.  But they are candle powered but very tall like these. Also really classy; see the video by searching amazing candle powered lava lamps ;

  • @upperlevelthegreat As a Lava Lite Brand collector (U.S.) I have two of these both in yellow, and in green. They are not cheap; costing over $80. These are special Mathmos lamps Made by a VERY well known designer. Mathmos is the BEST lava lamp maker in the world. Lava Lite has just gone to CRAP.

  • Dear Johan, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your answer !!!

I'll send you a private message soon, so the others will not be bothered and just relax and enjoy looking at your beautiful lamps ;)

    Thank you,

    JacQui
