This is my friend's 2008 Mazda3. He got this car new and I was with him when he put the first 100 miles on the odometer. He is one of the founding fathers of the San Diego State University (San Diego, California) chapter of the Phi Theta Delta fraternity. Very fast car, very smooth engine, very comfortable seats, and good ride composure over bumps for a Japanese car. Japanese cars tend to obnoxiously bounce over every single bump, especially Toyotas and Hondas. The Civic is REALLY annoying to ride in because of this. Not this one, this rides more like a German car, only feeling lighter on it's feet, unlike a Volkswagen Jetta; which feels heavy. The turbo whistles away prominently under healthy acceleration and overtaking. Red lights, blue and red gauges, and red stitching throughout make this a cool car with a LOT of character. As cool in my opinion as a Mini Cooper, but more reliable and roomier.

  • is that a factory paint job? because i have a silver 2008 and the silver is starting to get boring

  • @colinknight13 Yep, I think so. It is a really cool looking red color.

  • That car does not have a turbo.

  • @rccardude04 Yes it does have a turbo. You must be mistaken. It is a 2.3 Turbo.

  • @1bentley4ever Unless it was added at some point, the sedan has NEVER been offered with a turbo. The only turbo version of the Mazda3 is the hatch, in the "Mazdaspeed 3" trim. Not a standard 3s, and never in the sedan. If you can show me the turbo I'll believe it, but it wasn't a factory-installed option.

  • @rccardude04 I was told by my friend that this one has the engine from the MazdaSpeed3. I can hear turbo whine under acceleration. Thanks for correcting me about the 2.3. So basically the normal 2.3 is just a bigger engine than the 2.0?

  • @1bentley4ever; I know how it goes. A friend of mine thought they had an all-wheel-drive Ford Taurus, and even though I've been under there and there is no rear drivetrain, it's still all-wheel-drive. If that sedan has a turbo from the factory your friend literally has a one-of-a-kind Mazda factory test mule of some sort that slipped from the experimental line to the production shipping lane. As for 2.3 vs 2.0, the 2.3 is larger and has more output from the factory. More displacement!

  • @MolotovJosh Get a Mazda3! Much nicer and rides soooo much better. Feels like a little BMW.

  • Looks awesome! I'm stuck between one of these or a Civic.

  • @adambot3000 This Mazda3 looks the best by far. The newer Mazda 6's look nice, but the older ones look better.
