0:40 "Perfect for today's active man"... that just cracked me up. Yes, I realize that line refers more to the portability of the packaging than the cigars themselves, but I'm sure nobody considers smoking to be part of an *active* lifestyle.
To real cigars smokers, Dutch Masters, Murials, White Owls, and the like are crap. Cheap tobacco in a nasty paper wrapper. But the commercials , especially the Murial ads with Edie Adams were great
Kovacs was the best. I kept my school supplies in a Dutch Masters cigar box. Little did I know that years later I'd be smoking Arturo Fuentes, Montecristos and Romeo and Juliettas!
This was Ernie's lead-in for one of his sponsor's commercials during a 1959 "TAKE A GOOD LOOK" telecast, which was sponsored by Consolidated Cigar {Dutch Masters}. Paul Frees delivers the rhyming jingle at the start of the ad...true, Ernie rarely (if ever) smoked Dutch Masters. But they liked the way Ernie "bit" into his cigars on camera...and gave him the freedom to produce and appear in their ads ANY WAY HE WANTED!

What's funny is that Ernie would NEVER go near a Dutch Masters cigar. He only smoked cubans.
