My grandgrandparents were put to prison during the Stalin's Great Purge((

I understood it the same way with you, at a first blink. But who knows? Maybe it has a deeper political meening than we can realize. Imagine for how many families this was a reality. I cannot wait to see Burnt by The Sun 2...

i love this film so much ,the pace at the first half of the film is very slow ,very nice and arty .

The fireball was an interesting image in the film; however, I was comparing it to the image we saw in The Wizard of Oz. There are many historical references to this movie that make it valuable for adults to watch.

True, true again. I lived it, my family lived it. It brings tears to my eyes and aches in my insides. Its ugly and cruel and sad.

Nice composition. Your analysis of the film is spot on and the accompanying footage of Stalin only reinforces this.
This film is great but I think you have to see it complete and then see it again. It´s the better way to understand the whole story. Oleg Menshikov is wonderful!

You understood only one aspect of this film. It's not so political as you showed it, in fact politics is only background. It's more about love, betrayal, madness of communists rule, blindness to value of single life compared to some phantome idea. And it is about vanishing old lifestyle of tsaric Russia
