LComposer, arranger and producer Hughes de Coursons albums Mozart in Egypt 1 & 2 are Virgin Classics all-time best sellers with over half a million copies sold worldwide. Aside from the popular Mozart project, Hughes de Courson has explored the fusion of musical cultures in other cross-over albums, the highlights of which are featured on this compilation: OStravaganza, an encounter between Vivaldi and Celtic music, Songs of Innocence, childrens folk songs from every corner of the world and Lux Obscura, a phantasmagorical journey through time that pulls chants of the Middle Ages into the 21st Century. The compilation also boasts tracks from Hughes de Coursons earlier projects before he joined the Virgin Classics stable - courtesy of Sony, Warner & EMI Spain: Lambarena - Bach to Africa (in which he and the Gabonese singer-composer Pierre Akendengue mix traditional African sources with the music of JS Bach, in homage to Albert Schweitzer), as well as Palestrinas Missa primi toni and a track from his modern flamenco mix album Lágrimas de cera.
