The paradigm has shifted to immediate communication. It took some time. So shifting back to having to wait for a response or planning around not being in contact is tough. Living without it was punishment enough. Although a Polka striptease would be hilarious ^_^

I think no punishment. If you didn't have a phone before and needed one, then I think it's fine. It you did have one before and you were upgrading unnecessarily then I would say yes.
