Cat loves cutest golden retriever puppy

Arlo, a golden retriever pup, and Rosie, a tabby cat, deeply in love (well kind of, somewhat unrequited as far as Rosie is concerned!)

did you have your cat before you brought in Arlo, or the other way around? I want to get both, but at the moment I can only get a cat, so I am not sure how difficult it will be to get my cat to accept a new puppy into the house in the future.

I had the cat before Arlo but we had another golden retriever previously who was with us when we got Rosie, so we've worked it both ways I'm afraid and that doesn't really answer your question! Animals have unique personalities just as we do so there's no telling until we get them:)

Rosie is a tabby. I know a lot of folks think she's a main-coon but the breed is uncommon in the uk and although she has the look of one, she was from a brood which included normal looking short-haired tabbys. In addition she is only 4lbs in weight, normal for her type and nowhere near as big as genuine main-coons. She's an anomaly for a tabby granted, but that she is:)

What kills me is that, while they are from diferent species, we human beings are doing the exact oposite with each other.

I would borrow a friend's dog, one who's used to cats, to see how your cat would react. My cat's both tolerate my dog, but Milo we caught and raised when he was tiny and Lovey was a stray and used to overly affectionate canines.

Probably you miss understood me. I'm not saying ALL human beings are cruel to each other, I'm not saying ALL animal species get along with each other and I'm not expecting a lion have a friendship with an antilope in the wild. I'm just saying, if a dog and a cat can get along, why can't the human race IN GENERAL. That's all.

Er, alot of humans seemingly do care for each other, most people are just trying to live. Also, you have an idealized idea of animals if you think this is how they would act together in the wild.
