I lived in Seattle for 3 years, 3 of the best years of my life; hard but worth it. I know most Seattlites hate grunge and the association with grunge (and I know this isn't grunge per se) but Eddie Vedder's voice brings me back home every time I hear it and makes me want to go back all the more. Thank you for posting this with all of the information too, it's facinating. Just had to get that off my chest.

@mayandjaydee We never hear about Dick Proenneke like we do McCandless. Proenneke achieved the Alaskan wilderness thing 30 years before McCandless tried it. Proenneke lived it with love of nature, mental/physical toughness, skill and even donated his cabin to the national parks for people to visit and learn more about his naturalist spirit. I can admire McCandless' idealism and love of nature but he was delusional and foolhardy.

Yesterday was my first time watching Into The Wild... i knew about this song before... but was this Eddies cover of this song before or made during that movie

I wonder how many people know this isn't and original, but a cover of the Indio song?
I do like the Eddie Vedder version more though...

@colchilibeck Do you actually wonder or did you just want to point that out to everyone?
