The African women I have met have all be sweet hearts, such nice women. To think that this is happening in some of those parts is just disgusting.

I cringe every time I hear or watch about Female Genital Mutilation. I feel like my genitalia also gets hurt. I feel so sorry for these girls. FGM is one of the many traditions that's highly disturbing, dangerous and just plain, plain stupid (aside from the fact that the process is unimaginably hurtful). I am pissed because even after yeaarss of civilization, millions of people are still stuck in this stupidity. It should be stopped for Christ sakes! Get these people a proper education.

It is time for this 5000 year old "sacred tradition" to end. It is time to stop calling circumcision a "sacred tradition" and see the "cultural myths" perpetuating this abuse for what they are, harmful.
Alice is a very brave young woman. Considering how women in her culture are not valued her brave voice raised against tradition is utterly heroic.
