Sir Edmund Hillary has passed away. This is very sad (for NZers anyway - I know he wasn't very well-known in other countries).
I think he achieved legend status, not just because he climbed a mountain, but because of the way he lived his life and his manner. RIP.
(This is old news because TDES is behind).

  • my mother tongue isnt english, but i know the meanings of mean and into... should i be surprised know? no im shocked

  • well you'll get it sooner or later:)

  • I was surprised at the dirty joke too! Also surprising - no explanation of the joke for English learners!

  • The world has lost of great man. It makes me very sad too. I read about him in his support of the Central Asia Institute in _Three Cups of Tea_. <= A very good read, btw.

  • The National Public Radio here had a short segment on Sir Hillary's life and passing on my way to work, the day he died. Sounded like a very generous man. I'm sure I have read about him in publications like National Geographic and heard about him on TV. I think if someone mentioned his name I would think Mt. Everest.

  • Oh shite, friday's joke was baaaaaaad:) You're awsome to have a joke like that posted:)

  • cool stick news

  • Sarah, your segment regarding the meaning of mean triggered an insight. It builds upon a previous insight of mine that's too complex to explain here. Anyway, as you showed, mean = unkind. Since existence is the non-linear duality of Purpose/Meaning, then it's also Kind/unKind, as in Class/Instansiation, where unKind and Instansiation are not a kind of thing, but the means of a a kind of thing. :)

  • R.I.P., Sir Ed.

"You knocked the bastard off! Nice!" Hahahahaha.
