I love watching the Group B footage, especially the less commonly available stuff on here. When trying to describe to people what Group B was like I say that the men were men and the cars were animals.
I've also said many times that the safety problems were just an excuse for Jean-Marie Balestre eradicate the threat to F1, Group S was ready to take over and would/could have made the cars safer for the crews, after that it would just have taken some effort to marshall the stages properly.

Group B was the ultimate in rallying. We'll never see anything come close again.
Even if there were no accidents in Group B i'am sure FISA would have done away with it eventually as too keep Formual 1 the "top" motorsport.

Spectacular and great as always Marvdogger.Thanx for giving us these stories.Just wondering,can we look forward to "the Peugeot 205 T16 story" too? That would be the perfect trilogy:-)

I wanna do some more one off vids, these story ones are probably fun to watch but they take a while to do. I know sitting through hours of footage probably sounds fun but trust when you want to find one shot and you have to look at 5 different films from one event it can be trying.
