The Who break out a cover of a cover with their version of the Jimi Hendrix Experience's first single. Some goosebump inducing guitar work from Pete Townshend and stellar vocals from Roger Daltrey.

  • Well, asmorgan88, that shows how little you know about good guitar work. Among the guitarist community, the likes of Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix are admired even more for their rhythm playing than they are for their lead playing. If you think it's all about the solos, then you're just demonstrating your ignorance.

  • I feel sorry for you that you think playing that is "technical" or "difficult" is what qualifies as "good." You don't know a damn thing about music.

  • Sounds great ....

  • @smithdsmit Noel is not a bad bassist. Yeah, John is 1000 times better... but Noel's playing in 'Hey Joe' and 'Wait Until Tomorrow' is pretty good.

  • Cool! Roger's playing guitar! I forgot he started doing that again in the 80s after having stopped in 1963.

  • @david181993 its the leaves

  • VELIKAYA VESH...

  • @Maluquitozito Actually the song was written by Billy Roberts, then covered in '65 by The Leaves.

  • @Coolconman1Alt- Comparing Entwhistle to Noel Redding is like comparing apples to oranges. Their IS no comparison! Matter of fact, Jimi wasn't sad when he Redding left; he wanted to play more "pop" stuff. Also, while recording "Electric Ladyland", Jimi actually dubbed in the bass himself on a lot of the songs because he didn't like what Noel was doing. Except for the VERY brief "Band of Gypsy's", Mitch Mitchell was ALWAYS there on drums, no matter which incarnation of a band Jimi had assembled.

  • The Who covering a Jimi song, fantastic!
