Congressman Connie Mack (R-FL 14) appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" to discuss his "Penny Plan," a nickname for a bill he's introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives that calls for a 1% per year across-the-board cut in spending that will balance the budget by 2019, the full name of which is the One Percent Spending Reduction Act of 2011. Congressman Mack discussed his plan with hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, as well as guests former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell and Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post. Congressman Mack emphasized his desire for Washington to mirror the sort of sacrifices that American families are having to make every day, and at a much deeper rate than the one percent the Congressman proposes. Governor Rendell disagreed with Congressman, calling for some additional taxes, but Congressman Mack stayed firm. Congressman Mack also revealed that 103 other Congressmen have sent him a letter in support of his measure. Air Date: 6/7/11. Source: MSNBC
