It was not that bad. One has to take into consideration that this was a live performance, the artists are under tremendous pressure with a live audience and television cameras in their faces. I personally believe that it was very well done, despite the awkward embrace at the end.

i think she did amazingly
she was singing with great courage
she had cancer
so before you have a go at artists maybe think a bit
imagine reading the stuff yourself and how it would feel or maybe thats your kick

Notice how Maria messes up the lyrics at least 3 times throughout. That's a big NO NO when it comes to Soundheim. Vocally she is always special but I don't even find her emotionally involved. In the other hand Julian is just dreamy.
