And although Pinson was a cynical hypocrite and an avaricious social climber, it's possible he may have been besotted with her initially, but clearly not as much as he told her. She does also ignore that nice librarian who would have been devoted to her... in my experience being in love is a total mystery, how on earth do people get together at all???

The role that would typcast Isabelle Adjani as a batshit lunatic for most of her career. Don't believe me look at Camille Claudel, Possession, Oueen Margot (more depraved than crazy), but don't get me wrong I love Adjani but I sometimes wonder if she really is that looney?

I haven't watched the movie yet, so I cannot comment about her performance, but holyshoes! she's beautiful that even hurts!!
