I have listened to this song 8 times today. The recording is off of "The Kinks Kronikles" The video has the exact same recording. They lipsynced this one. Thats not a criticism, just an observation. I love the old Kinks tunes.

This song sums up the London I found running away from home in the 70's and ending up in the West End at 16 - it's before my time but I remember hearing it a lot/playing it on jukeboxes.I think it's a gem - in a few notes/lyrics it sums up the feeling I had and I bet loads of kid's who did what I did feel the same when they hear it

God ...I know exactely how you felt-I went through the same buzz when I first heard this.I've just discovered that this song is about Julie Christie and Terence Stamp- they were lovers at the time.
