Back in November of 2000 Michael offered to let me stay with him as all the hotels were booked up in New York for the Marathon. I think I was there for 2 or 3 days. I remember because Dave Stevens had been there for a few days before me working on a project and left the following morning. It was an overwhelming experience talking shop with the guys and getting real chummy. But what was more overwhelming was the two apartments Michael occupied on the top floor of a fifth floor walk-up. He'd been there since the late 60s (rent controlled too!) and had amassed an eclectic collection of books, nick-nacks, antiques, art and memorabilia over the years. You could look at one spot for days and not see everything...like me...I didn't see the large bronze Pegasus sitting in front of Michael's drawing table until the second day. And he'd been talking from that very table the entire time I was there!
When watching the video keep in mind that Michael moved three years ago...imagine what Herculian effort that would take, even if it was only to set up his stuff someplace else.
I have to apologize for being so wiped out, I was not use to the hours my gracious host kept. :)

There are several pictures of this studio and the artist in a fantasy art book "Dream Makers" published by paper tiger in1988. It's great to see a video of it. It has a very unique look and feel to it. Thanks for sharing.
