National Heroes Park is a botanical garden in Kingston, Jamaica. The largest open space in Kingston at 20 hectares in size, National Heroes Park features numerous monuments, and is the burial site of many of Jamaica's National Heroes, Prime Ministers, and cultural leaders. The park is also the burial site for 140 elderly women killed in a fire at the Myers Ward of the Eventide Home for the Aged in 1980. A monument marks the mass grave containing the women's remains.

Michael Norman Manley ON OCC (December 10, 1924 - March 6, 1997) was the fourth Prime Minister of Jamaica (1972 - 1980, 1989 - 1992). Michael Manley was a democratic socialist.

The second son of Jamaica's Premier Norman Manley and Jamaican artist Edna Manley, Michael Manley was a charismatic figure who became the leader of the Jamaican People's National Party a few months before his father's death in 1969.

Salvador Isabelino Allende Gossens (June 26, 1908 - September 11, 1973) was a physician and the first democratically elected Marxist socialist to become president of a state in the Americas.

Allende's involvement in Chilean political life spanned a period of nearly forty years. As a member of the Socialist Party, he was a senator, deputy and cabinet minister. He unsuccessfully ran for the presidency in the 1952, 1958, and 1964 elections, but was appointed in 1970.

Allende served as the President of Chile from November 4, 1970 until the U.S.-backed September 11, 1973 coup d'état that ended his democratically elected Popular Unity government. During the air raids and ground attacks that preceded the coup, Allende gave his last speech where he vowed to stay in the presidential palace. The cause of death was suicide.

Is this John Stockwell? If so, thanks for posting. I have read his books. He was the CIA station chief who went after Jamican Prime Minister, Michael Manley on orders of Kissinger, Nixon and Gerald Ford to destabilize our country so that Alcan/Reynolds Aluminium could take control of our bauxite. CIA - the terrorist arm of the US Government and EU corporations. Still in business. Well, the Jamaican 1970's economy did 'scream' and Manley got the blame instead of the 'invisible' CIA. Today in the 21st century our economy is being shut down by EU corporations like toll-road Boygues, Cable&Wireless, Digicel, etc. Any money Jamaicans spend in their own country goes to an EU corporation--- and the wealth is repatriated to Europe. They give us 'human rights' and take all the economic rights.

@PrimeReality - well Haiti's "problem" is that the led a revolt against colonial masters being blacks. They were heavily burdened with debt that completely crippled them because countries refused to trade with them. Aside from the voodoo... that was a wound that was almost impossible to heal... you can't build a nation without trade.
