Not so strange. Christians had to get used to the idea that God in the Old Testament was a horrible monster and God in the New Testament (=Jesus) was a nice guy.
This unexplained inconsistency was one of the things that made me renounce Christianity. It seemed to me that a person could change. But an "all-knowing God" should not have mood-swings.

@JAMTAM There are three world religions, en indeed the Abrahamic onces are quite violent. History proves this. At least in Europe we're doing better. The US still is quite easy with going to war, and state that their mission is God-given. And we all know about Islam, and ofcourse the way the Jews are setteling the Gaza-conflict.
So the question is, is it really religion? Or something else? The US and f.e.Germany aren't the same, and Irak, Marokko and Indonesia aren't the same either.

@nemes818 The old testament is just as violent. But you know what: acting after a religion is a choice. People are violent, not religions. Those books were written in a whole different surrounding than today's. We know better nowaday's, so we don't have to be religious, and if we are, we can choose how and which part we accept and use.

The Koran is violent. If all non believers will burn then whats the point of creating something just to send it to burn. If Allah is almighty and perfect why are there non believers what about free will?
