This is sooo cool. And Brownie has to be one of the best acoustic blues players. (and Mississippi John Hurt) Almost always flawless playing on almost everything I've heard. Sonny and Wolf, 2 of the greatest on harp.

This guy's just awesome. I love the sound of that harmonica.

Speaking of which, I was looking up famous Harmonica Blues artists and found Pal DeLay, only when I heard him play his harmonica, it didn't sound anything like Sonny's. I know it's probably a different type, but does anyone have a clue about this?

Ok -so its commercial, tailored to a white audience negro music - but for a lot of us kids back in the fifties it was our first exposure to blues on what was called the BBC Light Programme and opened the door for Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, John Lee Hooker and the rest.

"commercial"?
Of course was it commercial because like Hooker, Sonny Boy II & everybody you mentioned Sonny Terry was a PROFESSIONAL musician.
So what is wrong with that - I never understood that kind of argumentatation. It is just good music.

Cool - keep on playing! My son just started playing, too.
From what I know this footage is from a BBC TV program hosted by Pete Seeger (the guy with the banjo) and should be recorded in the early 60's.
