Tales of Phantasia was my first. To bad there weren't any secret pain in the ass bosses.

If you play the PS1 version (and maybe the PSP Full Voice Version), there was Odin (in the tower of Odin, duh) and Lilith (after winning the coliseum ten times).

Dunno about the GBA version, but the PS1 and PSP versions are supposed to be infinitely better.

Odin was a secret boss? I thought that you had to kill him for a sword or whatever...?

In my opinion, one of the only instances where the Japanese Opening is more fitting than the English one.

Well, you only get to fight Odin if you go down a dead end, talk to a statue, and then open a chest, IIRC. If he wasn't secret, he was at least completely optional, and if you win he recharges Gungnir to its full potential, making it the strongest thrusting weapon in the game (though only better than average in slashing).

He's a pain and a half if you don't use the Persian Boots + light elemental armor trick which makes him do 0 damage with all his light attacks, which are light elemental.
